I’ve recently bought Lumix FH20 in Costco after reading tons of reviews. It is a great camera and I do not regret buying it. I never owned Canon, only Sony and Minolta so i cannot compare those two.

My opinion of the camera: it’s great. The auto-focus is VERY fast. It handles photo writing on SD VERY good (14MP photo within 1-1.5 sec). Do not forget 8x optical zoom and excellent image stabilization (much better than my older Sony). Image quality is superb.

I think you need to read your manual because that camera does have the option of manual focus. It isn’t a bad compact camera really. You just need to learn how to take advantage of it’s features. That camera has all the features of a decent DSLR except for the smaller sensor size.

And you need to keep in mind that although the SX20 may cost $450, you only paid $388 for it so the XS would cost you about $100 more. Do you have the money? And I don’t know if Walmart would take it back anyway.

As someone else said you could sell it but you won’t get what you paid for it.

Je suis débat entre les Cyber-Shot W150 appareil photo Sony et le Canon Powershot A590. Je ne sais pas lequel acheter parce qu'ils semblent tous deux comme ils sont à peu près égal dans la qualité d'image. L' Sony utilise une batterie lithium-ion, mais le Canon fonctionne avec des piles ordinaires. Je recommande batteries au lithium-ion, mais pas tout le monde est d'accord avec moi. Le Sony pousses vidéo 640 x 480 à 30 fps mais le Canon tire seulement 640 x 480 vidéo à 20 ips. Je recommande la vitesse supérieure.

The Canon S90 takes SD video at 640 x 480 which is so-so for out-door or well-lit indoor scene. You can’t expect very good results shooting images or video at a concert. It is sure to be dark most of the time and intermittent lighting at most. Audio will not be very good because of the small on-board microphone. Plus concert music tends to be extremely loud and you have no control over the audio input.

Check with the concert location first to be sure it’s okay to bring your pocket cam. If you can, bring it and shoot subjects nearby you and have fun.

BTW: The S90 comes with a program called ImageBrowser 6.5 for PC and Macintosh.
