i have a 7.1 megapixel canon powershot sd1000. how much video/pictures does a 2gb memory card hold?

im going to a wrestling show live soon and want to record/take pictures

2GB should be a large enough capacity. The SD1000 will allow 600 high quality (Superfine/Large) images per 2GB. The camera’s default is (Fine/Large), so if you want the best image quality your camera offers, you will need to change it.
High quality movies of 640×480 @ 30fps (which is the camera’s default setting), eat up card space rapidly. Each 1GB will allow 8 minutes of recording.

Btw, your Advanced User Guide (pages 139-140) shows you how many images or how much recording of movies you can do per 512MB card…so just multiply the figures in the chart by 4.

which brand has better digital cameras ? (please help me !)?

my brother is getting a camera for christmas and were not sure which one to get ?
so far we have the
1. Nikon COOLPIX S570
2. Canon PowerShot SD940
3. Canon PowerShot SD1200

With dSLRs, Canon and Nikon are almost the same. With compacts, Canon is far much easier to use. Get the higher megapixel model if you have the cash. If not, the other one would still be excellent. To have other choices, look at Sony.

Does the Canon Rebel 300d support an Auto Focus lens?

Hi I’m Camera Clueless. My wife wants a digital 12x zoom, 5 MP+ and preferrs the Canon brand. Her wish is the Rebel EOS SLR models as she thinks she will want to change the lens to get some great close-up or action shots (she will never actually use it but wont listen to me). I have found some used 300d/350d models that are reasonably priced but I’m not sure if they support autofocus that will compare with the Canon PowerShot (point & shoot) models. I suggested the PowerShot since it meets her minimum specs and is much less $ than the SLR models. Will probably also be easier for her to use more often to snap shots of the 3 kids. Please help to confirm the auto focus feature! Advice welcome! Thanks!!!

Well yea, the 300D supports autofocus lenses. Dont see how you can compare the 300D to a point and shoot camera.

If your into SERIOUS photography or are extemely picky on imagine quality then getting an SLR is great. If not, for point and shoot moments, get a Powershot, once you get an SLR you want everything… =) I own the 400D and I dont take it everywhere with me, I take my little Canon SD700IS with me when I am hanging out with friends and what not.
