Which SLR camera should i choose?
I am a begginer at photography.
I know how to take good pictures with my digital camera though.
But i want to step it up a level.
I cant decide between the
Nikon coolpix P40

or the
The nikon d3000

Which should i choose?
First of all the Coolpix isn’t a dSLR.
And second, the d3000 is a pretty lousy camera.
I would suggest the d40, d40x, d60, or even the d5000. All of them have a similar form factor and operation. There are many reasons why the d3000 is not a very good camera.

remember, megapixels should NEVER be a factor in your decision. Megapixels do not matter.
Oh and if you decide against an SLR, dont get a Nikon compact. Get a Canon point and shoot.
I think in general the Canon point and shoots are superior to Nikon’s, and Nikon’s dSLR’s are superior to Canons
