omg ughh i need help! i have a canon powershot A560 camera, and every time i upload a video, the file isn’t correct and i can’t put it anywhere, or convert it. trust me, I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING. i have tried every video converter and nothing accepts the file, MVI_0459. i don’t know what to do, i need to get this video in windows movie maker but NOTHING is accepting the file. what can i do to convert it into a valid file?! please help meee!
First of all, calm down. Going crazy won’t solve the problem. You need to see if it is something wrong with your computer or your camera. First of all, see what kind of file your camera is making. You do this by right clicking and pressing properties. Does just doubleclicking the file not cause it to play? You should be using media player to play files, not moviemaker.
If this doesn’t work, try uploading the movie to a friend’s computer. If that works, then you know that it is your computer. Maybe you changed file associations so that movies are not playing with the correct program. For the most part, a movie from a digital camera should just play. If not, try downloading quicktime for free, and see if that solves your problem.

Try opening Windows media player, and then click file —>open and try manually opening the movie file.

You need remote capture in order to convert to webcam, your model does not support remote shooting/capture.
