The Nikon D200 is very, very customizable. You have to go to optimize the image "menu option. Assuming you're shooting JPEG and not RAW: I suggest moving the sharpening medium-high heat. If the skin tones are "kind of wax do not know if you listen too yellow or too red. But first you need to get the white balance under control. First, you can not simply use a sheet of white paper, because this is not pure white. You must use a white card or specialty registration, a mixture of equal Cruz-Red-Green-Blue components. Second, the exposure should be correct. If your exposure is off, the white balance is too large. You might consider using a fixed white balance and flash or daylight, making the device behaves like a color film camera. Auto WB is remain a moving target and may not be compatible with a plan, even in the same light. Once meek white balance, you can begin to decide if the color of good image or not. How will you judge? Is the color of your monitor calibrated? If not, you're basically guessing. Are you the impressions? In the Optimize Image menu, you have saturation options (ie "Vivid"). I personally find it very hard. You can make a custom saturation If you want in the Optimize menu image. I suggest you play with settings to optimize image menu and save it in banks in the camera settings so you can make comparisons without come back to the menu. Simply configure the settings each bank to make some experiments.
