Do I need a special flash for my Nikon digital camera?
I need a flash most important for my Nikon Coolpix 4500 Camera digital with a claw, and I would love to use the Vivitar Trusty, Thrysistor 283, which worked so well with my old SLR, but Nikon's manual warns that no flashes specifically for Nikon digital cameras can damage the camera through some type of electronic information. Are you trying to sell a unit 300 million flash, or is this a valid concern?

Cross Reference From the flash on the table there. In all cases, using a flash more than likely mean a loss of i-TTL (for Nikon) or E-TTL (for Canon). You would have to use auto / manual flash then.
