Pentax ist digital camera not working with fresh batteries?
My Pentax ist appeared to be out of batteries, so I replaced them, but it is still displaying the low battery icon and not turning on. I’ve had this happen before with cheap batteries that don’t have enough power to run the camera, but I just put in Energizer lithium batteries which can usually power it for a few weeks, or even months depending on how many pictures I take. I’m going on a trip in a few days, and would really like to have a working camera with me, any help is appreciated 
I have an *ist Ds model, and it never really liked lithium’s either. Probably should look in the manual and see if lithium’s are even recommended, but really my cam works best with plain old energizers, and also rechargeable crv-3 batteries.
Oh and of course pull them out, and make sure you have them installed correctly (duh).
