lens hood nikon d5000

Newbie question about Photography Goal?
I know how to work the camera because I took a beginners course in photography, but he did learn a lot about lenses and lens size. I have the standard lens supplied with my Nikon D5000. size in the canyon along the circle with a slash through it is 52 mm. I guess it's the size? Well, I'm trying to find a sunshade for my camera photo. I found one on eBay (and I have no problem with buying on eBay) with the ad's title: "52 mm to 52 mm Standard Rubber Hood Wide Tele Transfer" The list is at the following address, but may be in the next hour since the announcement ends in about 50 minutes: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200384317420&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT # I sent a message to the seller ht_2279wt_911 and he responded by saying some thing that does not fit all the broader goals of 28 mm, but says nothing about 28mm in page. I'm so confused. Help?
What have you found in your goal is to mark the screw into the 52mm filter size. Its purpose (I guess 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6) accept screw on the filter or attachment of this size. In If a rubber cap, the question is if the hood can block some of the light when the lens is at its wider. Very likely not as the field of view of its objective is 27mm. You may lose a play corner, but the only way to know for sure is to put in the ice and see what happens. There are also adjustable rubber bells, which can be pulled in and out to avoid this problem.
