Nikon D3000 Indoor Action Shots are Dark?
I need to take fast action, indoor shots with my D3000, but when I was testing it out, the shots are completely dark. If I use the flash, they are fine, but the picture is captured so much slower. I have tried different ISO speeds and changed the aperture settings but the only way I can get good shots without the flash is to take the shutter speed down to about 1/50th of a second. I am taking sport shots so I need the shutter speed to be at least 1/200. Any help?
Get out of auto and manual modes.
Shoot in your camera’s aperture priority mode. Jack the ISO to 1600 or more if you’ve got it. Open to maximum aperture (smallest f-stop number). If you’ve got a cheap zoom, dump it for a 50mm prime.
Get on the web, you need to learn about the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. They are all holding hands, change one, and something else much change to balance the light. When you learn how these three things are connected, you will never have to ask anyone anything, you’ll just know what to do.
