Many people who are aspiring DJs take the difficult decision of whether to use vinyl records on a turntable or DJ CD player with CD a CDJ-type. Both approaches have their strengths and weaknesses. Most good clubs that you could DJ to have the ability to play both CDs and vinyl and you can make your choice.
Playing vinyl is considered the most authentic approach to DJing. The art of DJing was born on turntables and DJs the oldest school would never consider doing anything else. This gives you easy access to a much wider selection of music that you would be able to easily get on vinyl, even if you live in a large city with many record stores. Most DJs CD burn their own CDs with all their favorite songs. If a CD is scratched, broken or lost they can simply burn a new copy quickly and cheaply.
