nikon 18-55mm vr filter size

nikon 18-55mm vr filter size
what size filter do I use for my lenses?

I have a Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR Zoom Nikkor Lens (I need a 55mm filter?) and a Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens (I need a 52mm?). Im sorry but i’m still a new comer to the world of SLR cameras… thanks!

Look on the front end of each lens; you will see, among the other data that describes the lens, a number followed by a circle with a slash through it.

This number indicates the thread size for filters, e.g., 52mm, 55mm, or whatever.

When buying filters, buy for the largest size, and use step-up rings to use them with smaller-size filter threads.
