nikon lighting
NIkon creative lighting….3 groups?
Ok….using nikon creative lighting, I can have 3 groups of flashes…..(2 groups if I use my popup flash on my d80 as commander)
but each GROUP can have many flashes??
Lets say I have 2 groups of 3….
One group has flash compensation of +1
The other group has NO compensation as determined in the master.
Does that mean ALL my flashes in group ONE HAVE to have +1 compensation, and group 2 NO compensation,
OR, can I then run to each individual flash and manually override the commander??
EG 2 flashes in group 2 have no compensation, and the third one does because i manually overrode the commander settings???

Hi there – the quick answer is no.
Once you set your Nikon flash to remote, you lose exposure compensation on that flash. The only controls you have are:
1. “CH” (channel #1-4)
2. “GROUP” (A,B,C)
3. Zoom control if your flash supports it.
The flashes in each group become slaves to the master controller and the compensation that it is flashing to its group with each shot.
